Local Non-Profit Crisis Response Center Announces New Walk-In Hours for Rochester Location and the start of 2007 Support Groups.
(Rochester, NH) – Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) is starting off the New Year at their Rochester location with walk-in hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Situated at 18 North Main St. in downtown Rochester, NH, the office is designed to aid the primary Portsmouth location. During the walk-in hours, local residents can obtain free and confidential crisis intervention, medical, and criminal justice accompaniments. The advocates at SASS provide non-judgmental emotional support, info and referrals for victims and survivors of sexual assault, their families and friends.
2007 Support Groups are scheduled to begin for female survivors and parents of survivors at the end of January. Call for information and appointment.
Sexual violence can happen to anyone, and the latest statistics show that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men are sexually assault in their lifetime. Sexual violence is never the victim’s fault and no one ever deserves to be assaulted. Sexual Assault Support Services recognizes the need for free and confidential services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Besides the office walk-in hours, prevention education and accompaniments, they offer access to a 24-hour Free and Confidential Hotline. The hotline can be reached by calling 1-888-747-7070. Relay for the deaf and hard of hearing is found at 1-800-735-2964 or TTY: 711. You don’t have to be in crisis to utilize the services provided by SASS.
