Upcoming Groups Offered by SASS
Sexual Assault Support Services offers a Coping Skills group that is open to adult survivors of sexual violence, parents of sexually victimized children, partners of survivors of sexual violence, and loved ones. When 6-8 participants show interest in a group, the group will begin. This series is intended to help participants gain further knowledge and understanding of the effects of sexual violence and how to develop healthy coping skills. In a safe, supportive environment, members will have an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and give and receive support and encouragement. This group is open to adults, both women and men. Participants are asked to commit to a minimum of 6 sessions. Please note that this experience will differ from a support group in that the information is shared in an educational, rather than counseling setting.
Surviving Sexual Violence Support Groups
Sexual Assault Support Services offers 8-12 week support groups for survivors of sexual violence. When 6-8 participants show interest in a group, the group will begin. SASS offers support groups for adult and teen survivors of sexual violence, with separate groups for male and female survivors. In addition, SASS offers educational support groups for partners and non-offending parents. These groups are intended to help survivors gain further knowledge and understanding of the effects of sexual violence in their lives and to find support in a safe confidential environment. In particular, these groups are mindful of the help and support survivors can provide for each other. These groups will support each participant, creating an empowering environment where participants can rediscover and learn new coping skills, and address personal goals.
